I’ve donated to a few worthy Catholic enterprises over the past few months. I won’t name them, because I don’t want to implicate them in any way by what I’m about to say. However, I’m really disappointed that my name and address seems to have been given to every Catholic charity in the world. Every day. Every day I receive at least one piece of mail soliciting donations. Some days it may be three or four different Catholic organizations. I wish I had the kind of money that would allow me to give freely to so many causes, but I would like to do it without the incessant flow of mail. I can’t imagine the cost of postage, so I’m assuming these types of campaigns work. Yet, I can’t help but to feel a bit put upon.
